not related to DWUW, but just curious as to why people aren't here for Britney anymore. The album is a flop. First two singles flopped.  And her documentary on E! flopped with only 706,000 viewers.  I'm not the hugest Britney fan but I would like to at least see some kind of success this era.  :noparty:

Everyone goes through flop eras. The real question is will Britney rebound from this since she doesn't really seem to care anymore.

But we should be more concerned about Gaga. At least Britney lasted a decade.

I just want to say something about Applause:

When Applause was released we were a bit disappointed by its quality but we were sure it could be huge. When the first sales were announced everyone believed Gaga had lost her power and quickly said she should move on to her other single. Especially when it was compared to Roar and other singles like Wrecking Ball it seemed a flop. No one could think it would have longevity.

But Applause prooved the complete different! It became a very very successful single with WW impact. It has hit double platinum in US and it is very possible to hit 3x platinum by the end of its run topping singles like We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together .. and Whistle (both went number 1). Its video has 125.000.000 views which is very good! Also, it managed to gain GP back for Gaga. Almost everyone love this song and it has showed that it is one of Gaga's most iconic songs! Here, it is played on radio and on tv very often and people love it!

True. I remember a certain member said "Let's just move on to single #2 and forget this ever happened"

:lmao: he was so bipolar. That certain member was always telling people to stay on topic and not be negative, and now he's not here anymore we're at page 909 without the thread being closed down :lmao:

You didn't praise Applause, you said most of us hated Applause at first but people only started hating it and noting its flaws because it didn't go #1 on iTunes tbqfh. Most people loved Applause at first listen :whitney:

Because expectations were way too high, has anybody ever peed his/her pants with something done by Gaga? :awkney: because that's what Tara hyped for.

For a song with weird lyrics for pop radio, Applause did quite well. It's not her best single but it's far from her worst. The hamster commercial really helped out though. The song could have had better longevity in Europe if promoted but whatever.

DWUW is a good single as well. It's just that people seem to be kinda over Gaga. She's still really popular though so I don't think we have to fear for her career... however, I do think she needs to re-invent herself musically. Kinda like Madonna with ROL and Cher with Believe.
