Philip 4
Katy seems so much savvier than Gaga. While Gaga is busy playing the victim, whining about everything, and pointing fingers at everybody but herself on lm.com/twitter, Katy is scoring smash hit after smash hit. People kept dismissing Rihanna, but she has such a stellar singles collection full of quality pop hits now, that it's pretty much impossible to dismiss her now. Same will be with Katy after this era. Rihanna and Katy keep gaining respect while Gaga is losing respect (if she hasn't lost all respect already). I find it a shame considering Katy's live singing, but can't fault her for playing the game so well. This is true but still hard to admit. But Gaga's tours have done a lot better than Katy's right? MORE COWBELL 26
I think all singles were choosen for a reason. Marry The Night flopped beacause its video was too long and not many people watched it, and by the moment she was everywhere. But it's one of her best, don't deny it. Buuuuut... Comparing them all, IMO LoveGame was the worst choice
TheFame Monster 9,000
The worst choice was having DWUW and Venus as promo singles and having one of them an actual single and then switching it.
nativenewyorker 1,190
I can't believe everyone answering with judas lol. Don't you think it's pretty amazing that Gaga was able to reach #5 with a song talking about being in love with Jesus' betrayer? Especially during Holy Week. It's an important part of Gaga's work. But I think all of the single choices have been great, except maybe releasing You and I in Europe. That wasn't the best idea.

No matter 0
Judas shouldn't be the 2nd single from BTW, but it could be 4th or 5th.
Anderson123 39,813
Judas shouldn't be the 2nd single from BTW, but it could be 4th or 5th. I agree with this. Marry The Night should've been the 2nd single, then maybe You and I, then Judas and then The Edge of Glory.
VasilisVas 5,202
Why is everyone saying Eh Eh? I thought that was only a promo single? Anyway: The Edge of Glory (boring and overrated song) You and I Judas

LaLuna 12,732
Marry The Night flopped beacause its video was too long and not many people watched it, and by the moment she was everywhere. The video has nothing to do with MTN flopping. It's all about timing. 5 singles was too much, she should've left it at 3, 4 singles tops. The song itself had massive potential but it was released way too late, like you said, Gaga was overexposed during the BTW era and by the time MTN was released, the GP had enough of her. gagalovesme 2
No way. Katy is nowhere near as edgy as gaga. Her cutesy pop won't last a lifetime
MonsterMum 2,532
I find it a shame considering Katy's live singing, but can't fault her for playing the game so well. She is being well marketed, she plays the cute big blue eyed busty all American girl very well. If you have a bigger (it seems to me that way) marketing budget then budget for vocal trainers then for me you become a product. And I do not want to have a fabricated product as someone to stan for. But it appeals to many, especially children, look at her youtube vids, I think the average is like 10 - 13? And it's a safe buy for soccer moms for their children. However when it comes to being an artist, Gaga is winning that one hands down. If you are asked to collab with big names from nowadays (Beyoncé) and the past, like Elton, Tony Bennett, Sting, that means you must be doing something right. And a good artist will spot a good fellow artist straight away. That for me counts most, it's a legacy she will leave for us and the world for many years to come and that's what people will admire her for, if anything would happen to her (please not but you get my point). Interludicrous 15
Why is everyone saying Eh Eh? I thought that was only a promo single? this It was only a promo right? It was a regular single in Europe and Australia if I'm not mistaken. It definitely was in The Netherlands.
