imogen2133 538 Posted July 3 Share Posted July 3 I still much prefer the first Confessions and I feel it has more variety overall than Confessions II and it is hard to beat Hung Up, Sorry, Let It Will Be and Jump for me. The second one is fantastic end to end listen as of day 2 - hard to know right away which ones better. COADF is incredibly polished pop maximalism whereas CONFESSIONS II feels more subdued/ambient at times, as well as being more raw/rough around the edges (which is something I love about it). CONFESSIONS II also is more sprawling and eclectic where as COADF is the pretty tight and streamlined, which again, is something I appreciate about each of them respectively. It's more like a career victory lap that draws from different parts of her catalogue but packaged as a love letter to dance music and culture but with a lot of vulnerable and honest moments.
