Bronco 23,680
Confessions 2 is like the love child of all my favourite parts of my favourite Madonna albums from the 90s & 00s. Like not only did we get a Confessions sequel, but its a sequel to Erotica, RoL, Music and American Life. The gays know how to party
imogen2133 501
I still much prefer the first Confessions and I feel it has more variety overall than Confessions II and it is hard to beat Hung Up, Sorry, Let It Will Be and Jump for me. I do like quite a few songs from Confessions II as well though.
thisboyisamonster 1,242
It's way too soon to know. First one is from 20 years ago and is established in pop culture. The second one is fantastic end to end listen as of day 2 - hard to know right away which ones better. I'm gonna try and enjoy it for what it is than compare the two albums, unnecessarily so Edited 1 hour ago by thisboyisamonster 1
Ladle Ghoulash 50,775
Too different to meaningfully compare imo. COADF is incredibly polished pop maximalism whereas CONFESSIONS II feels more subdued/ambient at times, as well as being more raw/rough around the edges (which is something I love about it). CONFESSIONS II also is more sprawling and eclectic where as COADF is the pretty tight and streamlined, which again, is something I appreciate about each of them respectively. Prob too early to say, tbh. We have forgotten our public MANNERS
thisboyisamonster 1,242
Yeah this album definitely feels like it's own thing than a sequel to COADF. It's more like a career victory lap that draws from different parts of her catalogue but packaged as a love letter to dance music and culture but with a lot of vulnerable and honest moments. Very Mayhem/Brat, but make it Madonna, if that makes sense... Edited 1 hour ago by thisboyisamonster
MountainMonster 2,569
Both are good - I just feel C2 lacks vocal interest for me where I feel she’s much more vocally varied in COADF. Now there’s several songs where I wish Gaga had the track to work with and I’d love to see where she would take the same track (namely School).
