kupo 201
Venus sounds so weak compared to the other tracks we've heard. I really thought it would be a standout. Well, it is her first stab at taking lead-producer duties. I think it's promising from that point of view, but I agree. Pretty much everything from Swinefest seems more promising to me. Dangerous Man 9,245
Hmmmm.. At least Bruno break his top 10 streak with a great, unusual-sounding and non-generic song. Can't wait for the Superbowl. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."
MonsterOfSpain 8,279
Same. I listened to it during my exams even. LOL now it is Applause and DWUW. Yass
Dangerous Man 9,245
i think for some reason MANiCURE will get a single spot somewhere around the era THIS. One of the listeners at the party said it is has a great breakdown and he said it was great. Plus, Adele first fall in love to this <3 "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body." Gov Hooka 8,008
Well it will do good in US, but i cant tell you same for ww. DWUW is safer song so she should save it for post album release. She needed risky song that can make impact Safer song? i don't know about you but when i hear R kelly singing at lady gaga to do what he wants with her body, safety is the last thing that comes to mind. For me, atleast, Venus doesn't have that risky impact that is so desired by everyone. If she really wants risky, why not release Aura as the second single and seal the stamp to this era. _Lam 597
Venus sounds so weak compared to the other tracks we've heard. I really thought it would be a standout. The production and style is not meant to be à la Zedd, like clean and polished as hell I think. It's more retro, it's the point of the song. She uses old school synth, vocals etc. Safer song? i don't know about you but when i hear R kelly singing at lady gaga to do what he wants with her body, safety is the last thing that comes to mind. For me, atleast, Venus doesn't have that risky impact that is so desired by everyone. If she really wants risky, why not release Aura as the second single and seal the stamp to this era. Disagree. I hear PENIS all the time instead of VENUS, and I'm pretty sure it was intended.

kupo 201
Well it will do good in US, but i cant tell you same for ww. DWUW is safer song so she should save it for post album release. She needed risky song that can make impact Again, like I said yesterday: AFTER the album is released is the best time for a risky single. A risky single will either be adored or hated based on its own merit. The radio pushing it, and the guaranteed high sales that come along with being a pre-album single DO NOT guarantee that you can spin a risky single into a lasting hit. Look no further than BTW--sounded way different for Gaga, sounded way different from what was on the radio, had blunt and in-some-quarters controversial lyrics. And, yes, it sold MASSIVELY and got lots of radio play, but it also died off quickly and isn't remembered as fondly as her other core hits. BTW coasted on hype and that became apparent in retrospect. If a song is risky, it will succeed or fail purely on its own merit. The pre-release hype and promotional bump won't ultimately change its fate, whereas songs that are more palatable or "fashionable" given the current radio environment absolutely can benefit from the boost of pre-release hype and be parlayed into massive hits, instead of just solid hits. More importantly, though, singles are meant as promotional tools to raise awareness of the album, and to push copies. Which means risking a flop BEFORE the album drops and reviews and word-of-mouth can start to spread and act as their own form of promotion is especially ill-advised. However, after the album is out, and people already know if it's good/bad and what it has to offer--then, by all means, take a risk, release one of the less-obvious and more adventurous cuts on the album and see if you can't shake up radio a bit.
