Spanish Eyes 2,041
We're in a really odd situation here. On one hand, we have some great stan-ready bragging points (because bragging IS what stan wars is): she's hit top ten pretty much worldwide, and she's gone top 5 in the US, UK, Germany, and France. If she were to go top 5 in Japan, that would be the 5 biggest music markets worldwide. The issue here is not with the number on the chart. I dont know who is saying that peaking at 4 is bad. It isn't. The problem is that if she doesn't get stronger airplay, then Applause is NOT going to be in the top 10 of iTunes much longer.

I think we just need to hope for the best, and have faith that the song will stay steady on iTunes. For comparison, JT's comeback was super anticipated, and he only reached #3 with Suit and Tie. I think we just have really high expectations and always want Gaga to have as much success as she can.
enriquelm 73
Applause is about to be Number 3 on US itunes! Light green update for applause 0.4618 and light red update for Robin Thicke 0.4619
Americano 31,061
Her and Robin keep switching back and fourth, Ive been checking on my mobile. He'll win out eventually because his airplay is like 20x her.

JPM 781
Radio is such a stupid situation, at least they still play her, remember when they cockblocked all of Britney's singles after some point? They basically destroyed her singles. So much lost superhits...
Americano 31,061
Radio is such a stupid situation, at least they still play her, remember when they cockblocked all of Britney's singles after some point? They basically destroyed her singles. So much lost superhits... That's the annoying part. With radio, there's literally nothing Gaga can do but hope they play her. She can't promote to them more than she already has. Hell, she sat down with Ryan for AN HOUR LONG INTERVIEW. That never happens with superstars. Maybe this will be like We Belong Together. Somewhat big single before and then a mega-smash second. I still have hope for Applause tho
Hello Mr. Radio 45
Radio is such a stupid situation, at least they still play her, remember when they cockblocked all of Britney's singles after some point? They basically destroyed her singles. So much lost superhits... This! Slave 4 U is probably one of her most famous songs, yet it only reached #27 on BB because of the radio ban on Britney. I'd say we're in good shape for now. Only the future can tell whether or not the radio stays supporting the song, and I hope it will!

I still have hope for Applause tho I keep thinking of Me Against The Music (#11 pop radio, #35 hot 100) x Toxic (#1 pop radio, #9 hot 100) if Applause does not rebound, let us pray for our Toxic
JPM 781
Tbh, Applause is slaying the GP. I'm ok if she doesn't go to #1 in the charts, but what the **** radio? People listen to Applause when it's being played? What's that for? I can't understand, Applause is safer even than Blurred Lines, it's 3.32 minutes, the music is pure pop/generic tune... Just A Holy Fool 2,389
This! Slave 4 U is probably one of her most famous songs, yet it only reached #34 on BB because of the radio ban on Britney. I'd say we're in good shape for now. Only the future can tell whether or not the radio stays supporting the song, and I hope it will! Its really hard to believe Britney had more than 9 years in between her first US #1 and her second considering how big of a star she became.
