Music videos are there to promote the song itself. If they promote Applause so heavily during its debut week and don't have a video to promote it after 3-4 weeks, it might fall just like Born This Way. Digital sales for Applause should be at least double that of BL's and streaming will likely be #1 as you say. It will still be close, but #1 is looking to be very attainable. It won't reach 280M AI, at least that's what I hope. It's already decreasing on Pop and Rhythmic because it broke the spin record on the former and got the most spins since What's My Name on the latter or something like that. It's rising fast on HAC, AC, Urban and Urban AC (yeah lol...) and those are the formats from where its 2M+ AI gains are coming from. It should peak on the Urban formats in the coming days and get negative updates soon. Yet, will most likely still have 240M AI then. Pop Art 1,773 Posted July 31, 2013 Share Posted July 31, 2013 Okay so best case scenario is this: Roar is released and weakens Blurred Lines on iTunes, but doesn't completely overpower it because, well, it's freaking Blurred Lines, and then GaGa releases Applause the following week and it hits #1 on iTunes with ease because Blurred Lines is weakened.
