If that's any consolation I truly don't think they will actually go through with the referendum. PSPP is way to fragile to lose so badly especially on a third try. That would be a major blow to his ego and I don't think he can take it.

It's pretty much official at this point, but at least it's looking like it's going to be a minority government. 

And I love that the CAQ lost so fiercely it's almost cunty, from 90 seats to zero that's kind of amazing

Which party was CAQ? Where do they fit in the spectrum? You seem to know more about some of the Quebec specific parties than I do 😅

The outgoing party of the last 8 years, known for their CATASTROPHIC waste of taxpayer money, the destruction of the public health system and their disrespect toward renters. It's a party of boomers that catered to retirees and businesses. Currently led by Peter Pan's girlboss sister, who campaigned on the fact that she wasn't François Legault, the previous leader who left in shame in january after massive pressure.

it's disheartening to see the effects of the messed up voting system in Québec... the Parti Québecois will govern the province with ZERO seats in its largest city (Montéal) and TWO seats in the capital (Québec city). Also sad to see Québec Solidaire lose two seats in the Assemblée Générale versus the 2022 elections. My hope is at least with a minority government the PQ will be blocked by the PLQ from anything majorly radically right-wing... hope being the operative word. Ideally, QS and the PLQ could form a coalition but the PLQ is far too neoliberal to side with the left-leaning QS (who had my vote since the 2018 election).

Unfortunately there’s a big wave of conservatives taking more seats in Canada and many of the left wing people who are in power today haven’t done much to prevent this. Immigration is one of those topics where many Canadians somehow agree and now it’s kind of hard for the left wing parties to gain votes when it comes to this topic.
