The cost of oil per barrel is now up to $105.00 (and possibly still rising) due to the Houthis in Yemen taking control of vital islands and coastal cities on the Red Sea. The strategic city of Mokha and the small island of Perim are now under Houthi control, which effectively is being seen as a closure of the Bab el Mandeb straight.* This straight is much tighter than Hormuz, meaning that it will be easier for the Houthis to control than it already has been for Iran in Hormuz. This all is happening following a major flare up in the Yemeni Civil war, with renewed fighting going on between the Houthis and the government. The Southern Transitional Council is also starting to make a return due to the success of the Houthis recent offensive.

*This straight is on the opposite side of the Suez Canal in Egypt, which makes a country taking control over it dangerous. The Suez Canal is a vital shipping route that allows ships to not have to go all the way around Africa for deliveries of various things.

Aaaaaaaand oil prices are rising yet again. Clean energy, anyone?

The way this could have been potentially prevented or slowed if Trump had supported the Saudi requests for US intervention in the last few weeks.
Could not have been timed better for the Republicans, will completely overshadow their TrumpFest midterm nuremberg rally

Apparently the Saudis asked Trump to launch strikes on the Houthis, but Trump said no to them.

The Saudis have been begging for months for direct US support in Yemen because they knew this would happen. The Saudi military has a terrible track record against the Houthis.
