If Lady Gaga was a gay man, would he be still as popular as she is today? Imagine he has the same artistry, similar outfits and wigs, same discography from The Fame till Mayhem Requiem (maybe Free Woman is Free Human, I guess). A Star Is Born is a love story between two gay men. He is still engaged with Michael. Could he be still be that successful in 2008 without facing much homophobia? Would he still have a loyal fanbase since most of the queer people mostly have female pop stars as their favourites?

I feel like Lord Gaga would have a massive cult following, but he wouldn’t be as mainstream as Lady Gaga. Maybe he could be slightly more successful than Adam Lambert. I just feel like society is too homophonic/prone to toxic masculinity to accept a “Lord Gaga”. 

ASIB would have been an indie film that Bradley Cooper would have made to be more “artsy”.

If s/he went to become a trans woman, maybe. Kim Petras also achieved fame. As a drag queen maybe, too. But if he stayed a man, probably not. 

Let's face it, when she appeared during the VMAs dressed as a man for the entire show, we were disappointed she wasn't a Queen with an extravaganze outfit.

Yeah why not? A gay man can sing about women and their perspectives too, after all our lives kinda revolve on female pop stars. Gay men are more closer to women than other straight men. 

Aura and Shadow of A Man could be complicated, maybe Lord Gaga can include queer empowerment in it.

Your question is interesting but it overlaps gender/sexuality oddly. I think you should clarify if you mean "what if lady gaga transitioned?" X "what if lady gaga was a cis man?" 

Because if he was a transgender gay man (and, even more so, after having been known as a bi cis woman), society would freak out.

If he had been """born""" a man, then that's just like David Bowie and Freddie Mercury I guess
