What was awkward about that? Lmao. He was using it as a rhetorical framing device to ask about how an artist brings something into being that didn’t exist before. Was genuinely stunned by the people who thought he was being shady, tbh.

I saw the clip out of context and it just sounded like a goofy question cuz of how it was worded and Gaga's "actually it did come in one fell swoop" made it funny to me

That was her first appearance! But yea he spent like 20 mins dragging TMB mostly just bc he thought she was doing too much and was a phony, etc. then he met her and saw her talent and was like oh yeah wait no she’s the real deal it’s not some act.

i thought it was cool of her to go on there so graciously that first time given what he’d said and even more of him to be willing to say he was wrong about her

I haven't come across the full video anywhere yet, but the audio is still readily available.

She sparked off Howard really well in previous interviews, but she's a bit subdued (borderline tetchy at times) in the Mayhem interview. I think she was just tired. At the end he asks her what she's going to do for the rest of the day and she says I'm gonna sleep all day. She sounds like someone whose head really needs to hit that pillow.
