Pigatha 874
Witness wasn't terrible, honestly I think it would have done better if she didn't have the Ellen hair and the tryhard music video featuring she who shall not be named that included meme references that was over a year too late. Chromatica was good but generic for a gaga album. Starmie25 21,524
Why we always comparing Gaga/Chromatica to Katy Perry? It's like she's the only pop act y'all can come up with.

Sad lyrics to a happy album about looking at a dreary world through the lens of color and sound to make it better again. Itâs on point and if that is Gagaâs âphoning it inâ album, then Iâll take it. Again, the songs are good, the production is milquetoast and bland. I think I would honestly listen to the record more if the production were reworked, but as is? The arrangements largely let down songs that could and should soar. The tracks feel like tracks, not music. It's not a bad album and by any other artist's standards would be fine, but not for Gaga. We rightfully expect more from her because she's on another level. When you have talent like that, the bar is just higher.
PartySick 169,234
I think Witness is the only Katy album I really listen to aside from like...maybe a couple tracks from Smile? Her hits are overplayed. Meanwhile, Chromatica is the worst Gaga album by a mile. I'd say in terms of production, Witness stomps easily. But a lot of the lyrics on Witness are just  so it kind of evens out. Chromatica by a millimeter. ÂĄSeguimos aquĂ!

Itâs on point and if that is Gagaâs âphoning it inâ album, then Iâll take it. Counterpoint: the interludes are where the album shines the most, especially 2 and 3 transitioning into 911 and Sine respectively. But a few seconds of "oh wow, that's cool" hardly makes an album. Alice was immediately disappointing if you ask me. It feels like a throwaway track, literally half of a song. Rain on Me is the most sonically interesting thing on the album and that's not really saying much  some echoing filtered pianos and wavy synths don't make for an excellent song, but I do find myself bopping from time to time, I can admit that. Replay revisits her trauma in the least inspiring way possible. Cliche lyrics and a Diana Ross sample that does ALL the heavy lifting for that drop. It needs more. The remix did the song justice but the lyrics still need work. SFA is probably the best produced song on the album which sucks 'cause it's the one that the main producer of the album decided to mock. Stupid Love is a bop for bop's sake which fits perfectly for the fun sound it has. Unlike all the other tracks which have some of her worst lyricism masquerading as second rate house music  Free Woman was where it really fell apart for me upon the first listen. I brushed off Alice, bopped to SL and RoM, and then when I heard what they turned FW into I was out for the rest of the album. You didn't mention it but having her write this achingly beautiful ballad, 1000 Doves, and turning it into a knockoff Cher song is really the final spit in the face of the album. I barely remember Babylon outside of it sounding like Vogue and having a sax play five notes as a hook. The concept is great. Truly, the whole idea of Chromatica could have been the continuation of thoughts from Born This Way, but the execution failed on every level. Poor, basic, flat, boring production with very little variation from start to finish. You could put that album on shuffle and the only thing that would matter is you might lose the schtick of having one collab per section. And the lyricism is among her least inspired, most cliche, and least intelligent. The fact that some of us are comparing it to a Katy album and even considering that to be an even match says loads  Thankfully, Harlequin and Mayhem are excellent redemption projects. And THAT is my Chromatica rant a true blight on an otherwise flawless body of work. ÂĄSeguimos aquĂ!
NashvilleGAGA 636
I love Chromatica more and more as time goes. Sorry. I have taste. Chained to the rhythm is a great song. But Katy doesnât come close anywhere for me sorry (Dark Horse is her best song though I think? Teenage Dream?) (I have not listened to any KP album all the way through, so I donât know deep cuts)
Gagaism 12,462
I like witness and itâs one of the best albums from Katy methinks Chromatica is great, thereâs songs I really love in it but itâs objectively Gagaâs most bland and flat album.

It's so crazy because (and I'm ready for the bullets), but I actually really love the vibe and production and world and clarity of Chromatica and prefer it to anything except Abracadabra on Mayhem. Honestly, what you feel about Chromatica (the production being milquetoast and bland) is how I feel about Mayhem. When I first heard it it sounded dated and not mixed well to me. Abracadabra and LoveDrug and Die With A Smile sound "right" to me. The rest of the album sounds off or warbly or something to me. It could punch better. Chromatica....does punch and smack for me.
