And there's usually one that everyone seems to love except you. What are your worst offenders? Mine are: The Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping (most obnoxious production and it just sounds like a consumerist anthem made to be played in shops) Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody (most depressing sounding Christmas song ever) Mariah Carey feat. Jennifer Hudson & Ariana Grande - Oh Santa! (the incessant clapping like a cheerleader chant and the lyrics are maximum cheese) Kelly Clarkson - Wrapped In Red (great singer but she takes it way too far here and her voice is like nails on a chalkboard) Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me (just can't vibe with super modern Christmas songs) What are yours? That one that goes "must be santa, must be santa, must be santa" song. I don't even know what it's called or how it actually goes, but we had to sing it in music class in elementarily school and since we had no idea what we were doing (or how to read sheet music I guess?), we sang it in the weirdest monotone chanting, like a brainwashed cult. All I remember it MUST BE SANTA MUST BE SANTA MUST BE SANTA. (I just listened to a version of Must Be Santa and it's SO MUCH WORSE than I thought it would be. Wow. Like wow.) And also the christmas shoes song about the little boy wanting shoes for his terminally ill mom? OMG agreed on Mariah/Ariana/Jennifer - haaaaaaaaaaate that song. Kelly’s Wrapped in Red stresses me out, and her unnecessary obligatory screaming IS nails to chalkboard. HOWEVER, totally disagree re Ariana’s Santa Tell Me. This has quickly moved into my Christmas faves over the last few years. No interest in most new Christmas songs but can tolerate Kelly and Ariana's. I'm not a fan of whichever version of Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song plays on the radio... So dreary!
