She’s done a series of droplets before without an album. Remember she released NRO, Never Worn White, Small Talk, 365, all with videos. Eventually she released an album and put NRO only on it. So I think that’s what she’s doing now with Bandaids and probably Watch it Burn. Just singles for a while and then probably an album eventually but not anytime soon.

I think the difference is that everyone in their right mind at least mildly dislikes Katy, while Cindi just sort of faded from the public eye for a while

she shouldn't release an album anytime soon. i think her strategy should be: release individual singles (like 4 of them several months apart), see what hits, and then work on an album in that style.

She needs to position herself as a reliable greatest hits act so the festival circuit is definitely the right call for her if she wants to maintain any remaining success potential. 

As for delaying a potential album, she's definitely teased a 2nd single. I think cancelling it due to the performance of bandaids would be bad press (although it's not announced so maybe not). It'd definitely piss off the remaining loyal and clued in fans and she needs to maintain them.

Im wishing her all the best. Maybe after Lifetimes Tour she should rest a while, think what sounds she want to do next and bring best possible producers to make a good comeback album in 2027.

Never been into her music at all, but I'm pretty sure that an artist capable of pulling out the success of an album like Teenage Dream will be able to release music (singles or/and albums) with decent budget (in terms of roll outs, MVs) for the rest of her life. Atp it's pretty obvious her label doesn't expect too much from her, I'm not even sure she's expecting a lot when it comes to commercially succeed again. She and her team knows touring is a secured bag (even me would attend The Lifetimes Tour just because why not paying 60€ to see a popstar), so... That should be enough to keep on releasing albums AND touring them. Props to her, honestly

Kind of derailing here, but I'm still so gagged that among the many mistakes made during the 341 era they also just dropped the album release date, title and visual way too soon so when Woman's World bombed there was no way of turning back. Like at least they could've done some damage control instead of just watching it crash and burn. I do admire her determination though

If bandaids was her comeback single instead of Woman’s World and all the mess that came with it, I could see it being a cute hit so I’d say she’s on the right direction musically

You’re right, not trying to compare but Madonna’s new records don’t have crazy numbers either but I don’t think her label expects hits from her atp, she just puts out new music so she can tour 

Also despite all the controversy, she’s still Katy Perry, one of the biggest stars of her generation and she has enough hits to maintain a touring career for the rest of her life
