I've not been a huge fan of Charli's for a good few years now. Ever since Crash era, when she started drama with Rina for seemingly no reason, attended the Miley Cyrus school of saying that your last album was bad and your fans were stupid for caring about it and generally seemed to become a lot more pretentious and mean girl-ish, I've just been put off by her public persona.

Charli and How I'm Feeling Now are phenomenal albums, and Crash is a great pop album, but I never really got the Brat hype, so even though I'm currently somewhat ambivalent on TLOAS, I really can't bring myself to care all that much about this drama. People have said much worse things about Taylor, but at the same time I'm not rushing to defend Charli.

Taylor wrote breakup songs for the better part of 2 decades and was criticized for it, but it was excused by Swifities. Then those criticisms being slammed by Taylor as misogynistic, even though every song she ever made about men heavily hinted at their identity and each video fueling those fires with Easter Eggs. The irony of Taylor (once again) feeling as if she's the victim in a situation, that honestly better veiled the identity of Taylor to begin with than anything Taylor ever has done in any situation. And it being okay when it's Taylor but not when it's anyone else. And Taylor always excusing her music as "how she feels about her deep relationships" but it not being valid for Charli.

Yeah right, that's why you wrote a whole ass song about it and put it on your album. Because it doesn't hurt you at all, nope, not even the tiniest bit, right? 

What else would Taylor write a song about these days? Kanye? Beaten to death over the last 16 years and he's no longer relevant. Katy? Also beaten to death over 12 years and she's no longer relevant. A boyfriend? She's engaged now so can't create PR fodder over that. Scooter Braun? She's re-recorded every album besides the most messy one so she can pocket it for a new low in her career and she also waited to buy her masters until this was all done.
