That's the gag — like The Monster Mash. Don't we know that she's the queen of camp? I think a sillier name like Dead Dance is only going to make it more iconic. Her name is Lady Gaga for ****'s sake!

Dead Dance could be the placeholder working title, and Drop Dead the final one, kinda how Sex Dreams became Sexxx Dreams.

 

Drop Dead kinda fits the supposed lyrics a bit better, "When you killed me inside,
that's when I came alive"......"But when you... something something I Drop Dead"

idk Drop Dead sounds like a generator came up with it in that it’s just sooooo textureless whereas at first I was eh on Dead Dance but came around once I heard the sound described bc it gives more camo silly disco vibe and in that vein the name makes sense. I mean the album has a song called Zombieboy and half the songs (Abra, GoE, ZB, LD, TB) could be reworked into novelty pop songs of old with different production. So bearing all that in mind I don’t strictly speaking mind Dead Dance and think it’s a fun lean in to retro camp classics in a way only she can in popular music
