It's a beautiful song but I guess this going back and forth between his earlier songwriter style and the pop on LoveGoes and Gloria kinda confused his listeners.

I still believe the public was too harsh on him during Gloria, and it's actually a good album. On the other side the whole pronoun game is just tiring. Just be whoever you want to be and make whatever feels authentic to you, but you don't need to explain yourself before every album campaign how your identity has evolved. This is not why people tune in to your music...
