girl do you hear yourself sometimes

to me, Disease is miles better than DWAS

to me, Disease is lightyears better than Shake It Off

how the hell do charts and sales relate to any of that?

thats your opinion - its not objective - anyone can have a subjective opinion

ppl can think britney spears is the best vocalist of all time - doesnt mean thats objectively true

charts and sales are an objective way of seeing which albums more popular.

BRAT, 100%

The only songs that I liked from Eternal Sunshine were “Yes, and?” and the Robyn sounding one.

Unpopular opinion: both bland albums, both forgotten in two weeks (I'm being generous) and the praise for these albums show how the standards are low right now.

If I had to choose as if my life depends on it, I'd pick Ari's album because at least after listened to it my head won't hurt.

but we're not talking about which is more popular, we're talking about which one we liked more

so why are you bringing charts into it

mother, what must i do?

chart performance is the only objective way of seeing how well an album does

emotions and feelings arent quantifiable. whether u like it or not

ES has 3.5 billion streams almost a billion more than brat

and ES spawned two hits while charli didnt chart that well.

thats like saying disease is a better song tha DWAS because u feel like it is - when clearly the numbers show that DWAS is a bigger hit and is more popular.

So because fast fashion or fast food sells more, or is consumed in larger quantities, does that mean it's objectively better than a handmade tailored piece or a home made/Michelin star meal?

Popular doesn't necessarily mean higher quality. Is Yummy by Justin Bieber (peak #2 on Billboards Hot 100) really better than Stupid Love (peak #5), Million Reasons (peak #4)?

I’ll get flack for this, but neither are great albums tbh, but if I had to pick, Eternal Sunshine is a better album. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not discrediting either of their artistry and both are still good pieces of work (and brat has objectively had the bigger cultural impacts of the two this year), but in terms of songwriting, production and vocal delivery alone, I will go with eternal sunshine.

RAMROD

I don't like sappy ballads/slow jams, and Eternal Sunshine got a lot of it, so brat is no brainer choice for me
