These uncommitted idiots stress me out :saladga:

The DNC wouldn't let an anti-Israel speaker on stage so now they're directing their fellow uncommitted people to not vote for Kamala?

Meanwhile, Trump is on the phone with Netanyahu telling him to not agree to a ceasefire because it'd be a political win for Biden/Harris and he has plans to build condos in Gaza once Israel's killed or driven everybody off and fully claimed the land :saladga:

Absolute morons.

My analogy of being given two plates, a plate with a turd on it and a plate with broccoli on it, and then they complain about not liking broccoli.

Well, have fun eating sh*t :huntyga:

I'm sure once Trump wins and all hope for peace in Gaza is out the window, all those people getting killed will be super proud of you for sticking by your convictions :smh:

I'll never understand single issue voters. Especially when they actively work against that single issue :smh:

I should just bite my tongue. But this isn't about a "single issue" -- this is about both parties using our tax money to kill innocent people in a genocide halfway around the world, and many people not seeing a problem with that. Politicians are not our friends and they are not entitled to our support. There are many many people who feel it is unconscionable to support either major party because they have made it clear that they are ok with killing people to uphold a settler colony.

Let's be clear -- Netanyahu and Israel are the problem. But as long as the Democrats (and Republicans) support that regime, they are alienating themselves from the voter bloc who that is a dealbreaker for.

These protestors are moral people who are radicalized by seeing death and carnage every day. Just yesterday I saw a dead child with their head blown off, I seen the inside of their skull, brains missing... and I got the joy of knowing my tax dollars were used to do that while I sat at a desk at a job I hate wasting my life away.

So please, have some respect for the people who are trying to hold our politicians to a higher standard than literal murder and genocide when we have so many greater issues at hand here at home that could benefit from the billions of dollars we are throwing at a foreign country, the leader of which is privately laughing at our stupidity and blind support of his regime. Literally bringing his dirty laundry for us to clean. It is humiliating to our country on the worlds stage, and the majority of our citizens are too caught up in party propaganda to even realize.

While I understand where you’re coming from, this is who they were vetting to speak:

IMO, so long as that is content of the speech, I think it’s not only fair (considering they allowed the hostage’s family to speak), but also consistent with the party’s message (tandem ceasefire/hostage release, peace in the region). The DNC is also, apparently, getting pressure from the UAW, whose endorsement is critical, to allow a Palestinian speaker to speak today.

Tangent: beyond political strategizing, I ofc unequivocally support a ceasefire in Gaza, the establishment of a legitimate Palestinian state, Netanyahu being held accountable for his war crimes/genocide, and Israel ending it’s apartheid. However, a lot of the faces of the pro-Palestine movement are *really* bad at politics. I don’t know how you run around calling people genocidal maniacs and expect that their party is going to trust you to be a part of their coalition.

Imagine they allow one of those single-issue non-committed voters to speak only to later find out they celebrated October 7 or something. Nah, the risk is not worth it.

You see it the time in debates where 'random' audience members ask a question like "I'm an undecided voter but I've only ever voted Republican and would rather set fire to my house than vote for Barack Obama. Anyway, Dem candidate what is your party going to do to solve the Cuban missile crisis? And to the Republican candidate, what is your favorite color?"

This part. Which is why I don't blame them from turning down a speaker on the issue. Someone who stands beside another person decrying "Killer Kamala" and "Genocide Joe" and they think the DNC will go "ah yes, please, have our undivided attention"? :laughga:

I'm sure she would have been fine, and I hope the decision is reconsidered, but I understand not taking the risk :rip:

It's a political game at this point. Kamala has to show empathy for Palestinians without alienating the majority of Americans who stand with Israel.

Not when they're actively hurting the chances of things getting better.

There is no better analogy than this one, we have two candidates, one of them will be president. One says to nuke the place and finish the job so he can build condos, the other says we need a ceasefire and to rebuild Gaza and establish an independent Palestinian state free from Israeli occupation.

And these goons are actively torpedoing the chances of the latter getting elected because she doesn't fit their purity test. It's nonsense.

I feel for them, I agree with them in principle, but that's just not how this works. If they want peace in Gaza, Kamala is quite literally the best chance at achieving it. By threatening to withhold their votes, they're hurting the cause they stand for.

I don't think this is a possibility. The left tends to be smarter than that. The bigger risk is infighting since more people support Israel than not.

Trump is already trying to run this stupid "she's antisemitic" thing against her and unfortunately, it's working for Jewish voters. He'll get more Jewish voters this cycle than a Republican has gotten in decades.

She has to decide how far to go and how worth it it is to balance pro-Palestine young and Arab voters with pro-Israel Jewish and moderate voters.

In an election where like 1%-3% of independents may decide the winner, she'd do well to air on the side of caution.

There’s no point in engaging with these people. They don’t care. They’re in this thread calling people protesting a genocide that Biden and Harris have been arming and funding for almost a year “idiots” every other page. I mean, a Zionist that’s been allowed to spread anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian propaganda on this site for months just “lmao”d your post about seeing a child’s head blown off. They just don’t care.

They want to live in willful ignorance and believe that the people carrying out the genocide actually want to end it, despite all evidence to the contrary, so they can feel good and cheer on the “good team.” If you’ve already committed the mental gymnastics necessary to somehow buy that the party arming the people carrying out the genocide, the party that has presided over nearly a year of non-stop carnage that we’ve all seen, nothing that anyone rightfully horrified by the horrors the Democratic Party has facilitated says on a Lady Gaga forum is going to be able to move you. They’re lost causes.

(We can see edits xoxo) And you're absolutely right tbh.

If believing results are more important than feelings makes me a "lost cause" then so be it.

I'll be voting for the possibility of safety for Palestinians while they continue waving their banners and doing absolutely nothing.
