Bernie gathered a cult following because his policies are incredibly popular. Touring those policies and ending it with "Kamala is the best way to get this done" is about as good as you can get imo

Disagree. Optics matter and there’s a very real difference between a full throated endorsement and what I saw as a fairly lukewarm endorsement. I see that, but I guess it’s almost more of a demeanor thing lol. Like can you just gin up some visible enthusiasm or energy? He doesn’t have to “yas queen,” just don’t look like you’re counting down the minutes until you get to get off the stage and go home 🤣. But yeah, I think tying his policy agenda to the effort to elect Harris was a solid tie in and I thought outlining the many helpful provisions from the ARP was also very solid.

Again, it’s not saying “Kamala is so mother” it’s just actively tying the struggle his agenda seeks to address a bit more overtly to Kamala’s platform (he mentioned price gouging, but would’ve been nice to see him hammer home some of the more populist points in her economic agenda). Like it or not, there’s a certain degree of cheerleading that comes with speaking at something like this. Not asking for stanning or sycophancy, just more concrete connections of his agenda to her’s to strengthen the quality of the endorsement.

I mean that’s fair, he could have made stronger ties to her agenda but I think he did do some of that and I think it’s obvious he agrees with it. A better speech than others who enthusiastically trash Trump but don’t mention any big policy ideas they want to see/agree with policy wise.

Idk I’ve always seen Bernie as pretty fierce, but I found the speech a bit dull. That being said, I agree that it’s fairly obvious that he stands with them and supports their agenda and, more than anything, glad that he’s getting his flowers from the party.
