Trump's whole plan for running again is to pardon himself and his supporters of anything and everything... Sorta fair. Other people probably wouldn’t be getting felonies for this type of crime alone. Tons of people (and I mean A LOT) would be arrested and convicted if so because it’s really common to lie about doing drugs- especially on forms when purchasing a firearm. There are so many gun owners who smoke pot and are breaking this law. But it’s usually used when another crime is committed and prosecution wants to escalate the charges. Not shocked though because he’s high profile and everything is so politicized right now. He might appeal and it puts the 2nd amendment activists and NRA in a funny position. If they don’t support him then they risk the Dems using this opportunity to push for gun safety and background checks which looks likely to happen. Their guy just got convicted on 34 felony counts, and Hunter isn't even in his father's administration. There's no equivalence here. It's also interesting that Republicans keep calling Trump's trials "politically motivated". Over a ten year period, only 0.04% of people who lie on gun applications actually see a courtroom.
