Realistically, how do you expect LG7 to do on the charts?

I see a lot of LMs saying Gaga can’t and doesn’t care about doing numbers anymore, that’s she’s a veteran and it’s not a priority. But if Beyonce could do reasonably well being over 40, I can’t see why Gaga couldn’t either. Before Renaissance, Beyonce was doing horribly on streams.

I personally expect LG7 to perform similarly to Renaissance. And if she doesn’t wait too long to release LG8, it could do even better. We’re in the steaming era, the more you release, the better you perform. Long waits don’t build up hype anymore, releasing constantly does.

Bonkers

It's up to Gaga.  If she wants a smash, she knows how to get attention and sell records.

If she doesn't do a lot of promo and attention seeking, that means she doesn't really care, so why should we?

Buy the album, watch the videos, and enjoy it without needing validation from sales.

I'm honestly surprised how well Chromatica sold given the general consensus regarding that album and era, and how poorly the lead did on the charts. All of this to say it's kind of unpredictable.

I guess she could get away with another non-impactful (chart wise) lead single {Applause, PI, SL} and it have minimal impact on the album sales. But I'd love for her to do another BTW and debut with a #1 lead single. But it's been 13 years since that happened :huntyga:

It really depends on the genre of the album and promotion. I'm not talking about doing countless radio interviews, as we saw that had no impact on PI. But, as much as it pains me to say it, TikTok and social media. If she can really SERVE visuals and a dance or something visually appealing that people want to see over and over, she can secure the #1.

As far as the album, I think doing similar numbers to Renaissance is fair. Beyonce literally does no promo or visuals anymore and still does pretty well.

I think it’ll do its best the closer it is to Joker. In today’s scene, if you’re a vet you have to strike when the pan is hot.

Did it really sell well though? It had 1 pretty good week then kind of fell off. It’s not even platinum after all these years.

And Beyonce kicked off the era with 100M+ people watching her Super Bowl commercial.

I guess I just meant debuting at #1, the biggest opening week of the year for a female artist (at the time). It did well (not great) internationally on the charts. That's what will be remembered imo, the #1 debut.

EDIT: Also, I personally wasn't expecting a #1 album with...that song. The #5 debut and #30 second week, but I despise that song so I see why :ororomunroe:

Lbr, Gaga owes Ariana for much of ROM's success and some of Chromatica. The single and video literally saved the album. The GP only remember ROM...

there is no artist on the planet that doesn't want their single/album/era to be a big success

Imagine if Gaga had announced TCB or LG7 during the Fortnite final days. The numbers would be huuuuuge

Eh, maybe. I still think Joker is the biggest opportunity she’s gonna get.

LG7 has the potential to do spectacularly on the charts. It depends on whether she wants to take advantage of the Joker 2 hype or not. It’ll be a great opportunity to make a dark Gaga album. Especially with Bloody Mary, Government Hooker, and Heavy Metal Lover going viral on TikTok one point or another.

Her teasing rock music and these darker aesthetics seems promising.

#1 debut, maybe a few weeks in top 10, falls off top 200 by 6 months

I think it depends on the marketing and timing, but I would certainly say Gaga could easily achieve the success of Renaissance if the rollout is done right. But I do also think her team’s timing has at least seemed questionable for a while, so I’m not sure where I place my guess yet. I look forward to the adventure either way. Naturally we could also see some massive long game where all things make sense knowing her mind too. I’ll be there either way. I’m also low key hoping for a bit of a Joanne revisit on the side since the yeehaw agenda is in full swing. It would be good to see her get some more redemption and closure for that album.

I agree with this. An MCU or DC film comes with a lot broader exposure and potential for conversion metrics and new fans. My favorite moments are seeing her fans expand because of her sheer talent.
