They say it has no regard to sales or charts, but I highly doubt Unholy would've even gotten close to winning had it not had chart success. The fact is, and it may be unintentional, but chart success ups the visibility of a song or album making it more likely to get attention. Not to say they don't merit work that flies under the radar, like Bonnie Raitt wining SOTY last year, but those also generally are tied to seasoned artist with prior Grammy success. 

The Grammys had a chance to reward Kesha for Rainbow and she only eked out two genre nominations when she realistically could have made since in general categories like SOTY and AOTY. I think Gag Order has a better shot than High Road given it's producer, content, and the strength of the vision, songwriting, and vocals. Particularly since I think she can submit different songs to different genre categories. However, I also could see it being overlooked  (and this would not surprise me) depending what else is released in the eligibility period.
