Swedish House Mafia announced an international tour last October.

In April they canceled three U.S. shows, including an Aug. 30 stop at the Footprint Center arena in Phoenix that had so far sold only 250 tickets to the 15,000-capacity arena

This Friday SHM has canceled more shows on its upcoming 2022 Paradise Again arena tour.
More cancellations are expected in the weeks to come.

The newly canceled shows include:
July 31 at the Amway Center in Orlando,
Aug. 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York,
Aug. 9 at TD Garden in Boston,
Aug. 10 in Philadelphia at Wells Fargo Center,
Aug. 11 at Verizon Arena Washington D.C.
Aug. 17 in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena.

The electronic dance music trio announced a two-year residency deal with Wynn Las Vegas earlier this week.

Many arena acts are facing sluggish ticket sales. Festivals too have struggled amid a wave of oversaturation and reduced consumer spending.

In May, SMH was one of acts to participate in Live Nation’s $25-all-in ticket promotion created over a decade ago.
Unlike most tickets sold on Ticketmaster, these tickets have no added fees. LN sold thousands of tickets in the upper sections of many touring arenas through the promotion, marking down tickets priced between $60 to $80 with fees included to just $25.

Many stops on the tour have sold a large percentage of the upper-level tickets at a steep discount, while floor tickets priced at $350 with fees included and lower bowl seats close to the stage priced at $215 with fees included remain unsold.

it seems strange to me that they would expect to sell out so many arenas of that capacity with so much US dates

they strike me more as festival-headlining than being able to sell out a full arena tour??

I understand why Gaga was careful with the number of dates she placed.

If you have to cancel even one for not selling enough tickets it becomes a running gag.

I don’t understand why any EDM artist would do an arena or stadium tour. It just doesn’t work with the vibe and that’s why most EDM artists don’t…

If this tour sold poorly, I wonder how good will their residency run be. Like, this is not setting up a good precedent. Wynn Las Vegas need to start worry about this. :bradley:

There are quite a few who are famous enough to warrant solo tour in arenas tho. IDK people maybe forgot about them? They broke up few years ago to do solo projects, when they were just getting famous, so in retrospect, clearly that was a bad move.

Well what did they expect? Do they have extravagant costumes and shifting set pieces that look otherworldly? Do they have sexy back up dancers with rippling abs grinding up on them? Do they have erratic hand choreo they can pull off flawlessly? No? Well there goes at least 10k people... The promise of abs alone would have pulled in at least 5k - I swear some of these acts are so out of touch :crossed:

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

250 out of 15000????? Somebody made terrible predictions when they told them they could do an arena tour...

Despite the large amount of regular tickets available, there are a LOT of resale tickets in every show. I did a quick sampling and there are a lot of dots. Even in the closest shows.

It's sad for them but yeah somebody lied to her several times, and told her that she was fly, hot, and sexy, and beautiful, and she's nothing like that.

Gaga curse, since Axwell worked on Chromatica? :selena:

HeavyMetal Halcyon

They were big a decade ago, with only one major US hit.

I really liked them back then, but honestly the new album is very subpar. I really didn’t get into it.

They lost all of their hype when they decided to disband years ago.
