And let’s not forget Paula Abdul who was crafting those Janet moves in 1986 and then hit the scene herself in 1988-1989. Literally every dancing female after that, including Gaga, emulated that performance style. Madonna…danced, kind of, but not anywhere near that level. The leather, the fierceness... This energy for example in the Womanizer intro. It's something Britney brought and that infused female energy I guess. And also few artists are able to be that fierce and abrasive with the sound before her in pop. She's put the millennial twist in what Madonna did and that was so electric. Her name, importance, and reference has come up before, but it didn’t click in my head! Im so happy that she’s getting her deserved recognition!!
