What if it’s not true at all and people are fast to judge and destroy a persons life. This happened with a famous man in my country. He was accused of rape by 2 women and years later they confessed that they lied. He was innocent.

 

I am not saying it’s like that, but people always forget that it can also be the other way around, which is really horrible too.

I to a point understand where you’re coming from. But look at it like this:

These allegations have been around for years, well before he was even really into the acting world. Multiple women across nearly a decade and a half have shared experiences with him. That’s not insignificant.

While it’s possible to make a false report, statistics show that false reports are uncommon, especially multiple reports from unconnected sources across many years. Reports of troubling behavior have not just come from people online, but also reputable celebrities that have worked with him.

That isn’t something that just happens. The possibility exists that he is innocent, but we don’t know that until it’s been looked into. 

If it’s looked into and his innocence is proven, then fantastic. But until that innocence has been proven, we have to take allegations seriously and treat them as fact until proven otherwise. Doubting reports allows very real assaults to go unpunished. 

Always, always, always air on the side of the potential victim until there is proof that what they claim did not happen. Otherwise, if it turns out to be true (and it often is), those people will never get justice.

I agree with u. It should be investigated. I’m not even a fan of him but I think it’s a bit harsh to already call him a rapist without any real investigations & only based on some Tweets that anybody could post & invent. That’s all I’m saying.

There are years long patterns tied to Jared Leto pursuing young girls, young girls who throw themselves at him as their idol who he takes advantage of. Plenty have spoken out and shared their stories, and plenty of people can validate that this is something he has gotten away with for a long time.

He may very well be another Epstein, who uses blackmail and power to stay unaccounted for. Leto’s island no doubt has an international/underage sex trafficking situation going on, and powerful people are no doubt guilty of participating alongside him—which is why he continues to get away with it.

Innocent until proven guilty - core tenet of our entire Western justice system (you may have heard of it).  Allegations are not facts.  Facts are facts.

First of all, there’s no need to be a smart ass. You can say what you need to say like an adult, or don’t say it at all. 

Secondly, I am well aware of the concept of innocent until proven guilty. However it, like our entire Western justice system, is fundamentally flawed especially in cases of assault because it does not favor victims, especially women. In assault cases, the abuser is able to hide behind the veil of innocence for extended periods of time until an investigation is conducted, all the while they’re free to continue their patterns of abuse.

If allegations are made, an investigation must follow, and in that time the person who the allegations are made against should not be able to skirt by completely unsupervised. I’m not saying arrest them and jail them until their innocence is proven, but it is reasonable to put measures in place to make sure that the person of interest is watched closely. They do that exact thing with murder suspects, yet those accused of sexual assault don’t get put under that same scrutiny precisely because of this idea. 

The unrestricted freedom that people who are accused of such a thing is reckless. As I said you do not have to jail them or place them into custody while the investigation takes place, but they should not be allowed to just go about life as normal either, and they almost always are.

Hopefully we won't have to pretend that HOG didn't exist in the future because of him, I was aware of this since  these allegations about him are often discussed in movie boards or blogs.

My hot, unpopular take:

I would not be surprised if Jared (and Drake) do sleep with underage girls (16/17 is underage in most parts of the US). Basically, statutory rape.

I also believe the rumors about 14 year olds and cult islands are bullsh*t. The former seems to build off the more (likely) rumors that he hits on 17 year old models and the cult island was pretty easily debunked online. And unfortunately, I believe the more outlandish rumors deflect attention from the believably bad enough (true) behavior. And I think people-including journalists-posting Cole Sprouse's tweet about Jared hitting on 18-25 year old models also don't help because....well that is legal.

And I do tend to believe survivors...but there seems to be no one willing to come out and say it. And in a post Me Too era, Jared has none of the power that Harvey (or even Kevin Spacey) had and journalists hate him. So, and as icky as I feel saying this, I do find it suspect that if these rumors have been going on for 15 years and involve straight up pedo behavior with 14 year olds that journalists can't find evidence....or one person to go on the record to talk about this or even go an "anonymous" tell all vetted by reputable journalists like the NYT.

These were around forever and I always wondered why they suddenly just...disappeared? I don't believe that multiple women saying he is a creep that hits on underage girls is a coincidence. I never liked or cared for him, and if any single one of these allegations is true then we already know what's next.
