I can't tell the difference between one ballad and the other. - She's not attractive - She looks SO fake. I mean, she looks like the girl who'll smile and talk to you but stab you in the back when you turn around - She's very manipulative. The Scooter Braun situation was a game on her part so she could get what she wanted. The Calvin Harris fake alias thing. She also seems like the girl who'll date someone and then MAKE THEM leave (without them even realizing this) just to use that to sell a song or album - She's extremely chart-obsessed. StrawberryBlond 14,832 Posted March 23, 2022 Share Posted March 23, 2022 - Tim McGraw is one of the greatest songs of her career and yet seems to be all but forgotten now. - Her pop songs are better than most of her country songs. - 1989 grew on me but is so overrated as some landmark pop masterpiece when it's halfway decent at best. - Reputation is her best album. - Folklore and Evermore are very boring and pretentious for the most part but Evermore is better, yet it's the former getting the longevity and awards. - I find the whole subtle hidden messages, references and coding in her songs akin to Easter egg hunts to be annoying, irrelevant and childish, not intriguing. - She's far too money hungry and this concept of re-recording her old albums to get fans to buy them twice and acting like all these new tracks were all recorded back in the day is something I'm not falling for (at the very least, I think she's revisited unused songs and added new lyrics). She even changed the original release date of Red's re-release when it was revealed that Adele was going to be releasing on the same day. She can't even deal with being #2 for a re-issue of an album that went to #1 nine years ago. That's what told me that these re-issues are all about money and extending her record of most #1 albums. - I think she was extremely naive with the whole "I made that b***h famous" line. Kanye was no angel in this but Taylor really should have been smarter. In that phone call, she's clearly flattered by the "Taylor Swift and I might still have sex" line and even says she likes the provocative nature of it and never once thinks to ask what comes after it, even though the line was clearly unfinished and required explanation. I feel if she'd handled the situation in a "whatever" manner, it wouldn't have been a big deal but she chose to take it far too seriously and act like Kanye was seriously taking credit for her achievements when he was more inferring that the moment in question is what turned her into an international superstar. - I find her understanding of feminism to be extremely basic and shallow and she only seems to care about sexism when it personally affects her. She also contradicts it heavily with mean girl tactics against women (writing songs s**t shaming them, the whole Katy fiasco) and for someone who's apparently such a supporter of women, she used that girl squad as a gimmick for clout and doesn't really seem to be friends with them now and seems to work almost entirely with men. I became a huge fan partly because of the way she stands up for herself. She doesn’t let anything slide and you know what that takes courage because coming from a woman, people will call her petty, silly and vindictive but coming from a man they’ll call him a boss, a beast or a fighter. I think you misinterpreted the article. It says that “19.7% of Taylor Swift fans also opposed” same sex marriage which would mean that 80.3% supported it at the time. In the same article, it says that 81.3% of Lady Gaga fans support same sex marriage. To take this and say that Taylor Swift fans are predominantly conservative is simply wrong and baseless. I do, however, think she and Ed Sheeran are in the same boat: they're good at what they do, however, I don't think they're both anything overly 'wowing' and I've never understood the hype for either of them.
