Trump tried/tries/is trying to write literally dismantle our democratic institution as part of the dying GOP's power grab, and the only reason he hasn't succeeded yet is because he's stupid. 

Pence may still think the current governing style is worth preserving, but he's also level-headed and professional enough to do serious damage. And at a time when explicitly racist, sexist, and anti-gay legislation is being passed at the moment; do we really think an ultra-religious president with ties to conversion therapy is the right way to go?
