Two years ago today, Lana Del Rey released her sixth studio album Norman ******* Rockwell!. Her most critically acclaimed body of work to date with a Metacritic score of 87, the album was primarily written and produced by Del Rey and Jack Antonoff. The title track was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2020 Grammy Awards, while the album received a nomination for Album of the Year. NFR! debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart, with 104,000 equivelant units. Quintessential to Lana's image, the album portrays a classic Americana style both sonically and visually.

Listed by several publications as one of the best albums of the decade, NFR features a blend of soft rock, psych rock and piano ballads. Numerous singles were released in promotion of the album, including "Mariners Apartment Complex", "Venice *****", "Hope Is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman Like Me to Have - But I Have It" and "Doin' Time". Described by NME as "an instant folk-pop classic", the album is noted for it's strong influence from 70's classic rock with a prominent west coast nostalgia aesthetic.

What are your favourite songs from this great album? Personally, my highlights include the title track, California, Love Song, and Cinnamon Girl.

This masterpiece came right when I needed it most in my life. UV and NFR won’t ever be topped.
