Lots of missed opportunities to nominate at least a few progressives in there indeed. How he has room for neither Bernie or Warren is beyond me. He's not going for balance, he's going for plain old status quo.

Wait am I missing something with Buttigieg, I actually really like him and agree with a lot of what he thinks? He wants money out of big politics, he’s pro abortion rights, he wants to rejoin the Paris Agreement, he wants to decriminalize marijuana...and back in 2019 he proposed the “Douglass Plan”. He’s also anti capitol punishment. He’s also pro national FML and he’s for the New Green Deal which at least shows he cares about the environment. He also wants to federally raise minimum wage and lower the cost of college for American’s. Not to mention he’s adapted a “Medicare for All” approach...granted a lot of these things are things I believe in. But am I missing something else? I clicked that link to see how they showed that he was “anti black” but they didn’t have any sources or examples of anything other than people in his town feeling like they were left out? Is there more? Genuinely trying to have a conversation here. On the Douglass plan: The initiative would allocate $10 billion to African-American entrepreneurship over five years, grant $25 billion to historically black colleges, legalize marijuana, expunge drug convictions, halve the federal prison population, and propose a federal New Voting Rights Act designed to increase voting access. Don’t ask them for reasons, all they’ve got is “he looks like a rat” and “he’s not as far to the left as humanly possible”. Some of us are interested in progressive (he is based on policy, don’t even try to argue) yet PRAGMATIC leaders for a change. Baskin Robbins

Literally just read an article about Buttigieg and this was at the end and I really agree with this quote “Some people, they’re trying to find the dirt on Pete,” she said. “I just try to encourage people. If you look at the whole story — any good story — the hero is an imperfect hero, you know what I’m saying? We don’t do everything right. The real story here is the fact that the people organized to make a change.” Reading up on his background it looks like Pete may have had some hiccups when it came to his South Bend reconstruction projects and housing development. I think the important thing here is that every sane person makes mistakes, every first tome mayor is gonna make mistakes. But if you look at what he believes in and what he did as his time as Mayor (incredible job on infrastructure and housing/urban development) I think he’s perfectly capable. If y’all hate Pete you must hate Biden too given this mindset?

The two terms do not belong together. Diluted progressivism is neoliberalism. And progressives dont support neoliberalism.
