The other songs have nothing to do with Joanne or her Dad so tbh I never got her branding as 'I wrote this record for my dad', that statement is a bit too far fetched imo. The recording is about a hustling girl, whos heartbroken after ending an engagement. She also comes across as devastated by what's going on around her both personally and politically. You have to accept the fact that a majority of people dont think joanne is ground breaking or pivotal. yes taste is subjective, but facts are not.
