HermioneT 1,998 Posted October 28, 2020 Share Posted October 28, 2020 I supported all regulations so far, gladly wear maks and started self-Isolation again weeks ago, but I don't think the specifications of the new regulations are useful this time. Banning all organized forms of free time activities like music, sport or other clubs, vmcas and fitness centers is not a good idea, I think. People will just meet up privat, because everyone learned that nobody can controll the regulations in privat places anyway. Also it's a nasty decision to shut down restaurants and all cultural institutions like museums and keep open all kind of companies where no distance and hygienic measurements can be taken seriously to keep the work going. Also schools will stay open, which might be beneficial for some students, but when I hear my brother, a teacher, it is just pure chaos and there are not many possibilities to stay safe in classrooms (aside from keeping all windows open all the time). I wish politics had developed a stronger Corona app for contact tracking and worked on functioning concepts for schools and unis and all the groups most at risk. We also know that businesses will not be getting money from the government the way Germany is. I work in a restaurant, I cannot imagine having to shut down again. It’s terrifying to me. One because the unemployment is pennies for me, also because I don’t think my restaurant would survive another shut down. I’d do anything I can to help keep it afloat again. IMO it's better to have immediate measures so you avoid these type of situations. I would expect a significant amount of Germans to flock to restaurants and cafes, meet up with friends and family, etc this week "while they still can"... sadly that's how some people are - irresponsible. If we were several years down the line then i'd agree, but we're not. This is nothing compared to what previous generations have gone though, so chill.
