JustJames 869
Reminder that the deadline for the 2021 Grammy Awards (ceremony) is now over (Aug 31, 2020); the 911 MV, released Sep 19, 2020, will be eligible - if submitted - for Best Music Video at the 2022 Grammy Awards (ceremony). One of the many unfortunate consequences of the long gap in promo efforts for Chromatica is that the likelihood of it factoring into any Grammys discussions is extremely low. Had the album been sustained through a period of performances (VMAs), interviews, and MVs like we are now seeing, it would've been neck-and-neck with the leading Best Pop Vocal Album contenders: Fine Line (a #1, #6, and extremely impressive sales / longevity); Folklore (88 MC, #1, dominant sales); Future Nostalgia (88 MC, #2, impressive longevity in terms of singles). Chromatica had the debut acclaim (79 MC), sales/streams, and successful singles (#1, #5) but faded way too quickly.
