I haven’t taken any sort of pleasure from deaths of living people and I've never expressed any sort of opinion like that. You can check all of my replies to any post on GGD. That said, I only meant to say the criticism is valid for certain Americans who can prevent travesty and death but choose not to nor educate themselves. I definitely agree that criticism is valid for the people out there who aren't taking things seriously. I'm enraged by them every single day. I don't wish anyone dead, but it's really upsetting to live in a country with people like this because they're not just endangering themselves but others. It's not the same as not choosing to wear a seatbelt. I do feel fortunate to be in a state with a governor who believes in science and is keeping our cases lower thanks to her "draconian" rules, but it upsets me that we could have contained this, but instead people have just given up. It's definitely made me re-think whether I want to stay in the US (I have a career that allows me to be extraordinarily mobile and live anywhere, so it's really a question of whether I want to be far from family members and about being able to take my dog with me). At least where I am, the few times I am out (grocery store), I'd say 90% of the people are masking and maintaining distance, and hopefully that'll increase once our mask mandate goes into effect in two days.
