But having obtained my PhD from an Ivy, I want to say that it's not about the school, it's more about the faculty with whom you want to work. The benefits of an Ivy, at least in my experience, are that the name opens doors, and at least in my program, I didn't have to pay a single cent the seven (yes, seven!) years I was there, and I only had to TA for two years. I was in a humanities field, so if you're in STEM, it's probably totally different. 

Many of my friends who are professors (I have since left academia to pursue a more artistic path) are appalled and are trying to challenge this. The only people who think this is a good move are ignorant xenophobes.

I'm currently doing an MA in a research assistant position in my country. I am happy both with the faculty and the position since the pay is good, but I think I HAVE to go somewhere else or I'll stagnate. Since I'll probably be studying comparative literature for my PhD, I also think England could be a good idea tbh. I'm still not even close to being done with my thesis, so I have time to decide I guess

If you have questions about Comp Lit programs, you can feel free to PM me. Ultimately, I really think that it comes down to who you'd like your advisor to be. Hopefully faculty at your current university can give you some good advice. In the US, aside from certain Ivies (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, maybe U Penn?), Duke, U Chicago, and Stanford have pretty good programs. I'm less familiar with programs in the UK.

I think this might pressure some Universities to reconsider doing full-time online classes. 

I went to school with many International students and befriended some, and they are just so nice and willing to learn more about US culture, etc. They were also really smart. Thankfully the ones I got to know already graduated and have jobs in the US, but I do wonder how much panic is going around in current International students. They already have to worry about COVID-19 and now this? Man.

International students enter the US with an F-1 visa, it doesn’t come with a Social security Number, which is essential to be employed. They’re not permitted to work outside of campus unless they’re sponsored by the university.
