The model industry been praising more european features forever, she said herself people who work for Vogue are for the most part white. She's now, after it's deemed 'trendy' enough for her, saying she wants more diversity. Why didn't say that back in the 90s/2000s? Versace loved diversity and it wasn't trendy, he loved using all kinds of models for his shows, that I can respect, those kind of people who do things from the heart and not by pressure, these are the real ones. There is nothing about Anna Wintour that tells me she truly cares about other kinds of ethnicities out there in the world, she's never proved that she does. There is also something so arrogant about her, the way she carries herself, the way she takes herself so seriously. Everyone knows that black is beautiful. Like, that ain’t rocket science. But black people are also witty, sophisticated and creative writers, producers, executives, supervisors and directors. Something Anna did very little to nurture diversity across the board within the industry she helmed. In fact, the fashion industry is one of the most exclusionary. For many POC, it’s not just what’s on the cover that matters, but what happens underneath that counts also. Goodbye legacy, Anna. You had 30 damn years. A store where I once worked had a store manager who led out of fear and intimidation. He actually was not a mean person irl, but that was his management style. Employees did not like that he chewed employees out in public. A later store manager led out of love and kindness. The employees would go to the end of the earth for her. If she even suggested that it would be nice if a task be done it was always done immediately just because people liked her. Her management style was much more effective than the previous manager. Haha 100% But in my opinion it's not about that. It's about her not moving a muscle for huge diversity and now asking for "suggestions" when it's deemed "trendy" enough for her to make that move.
