ALonelyNight 224
I remember being 11 and running to tell my mom about her cameo. I was so hyped for what ultimately is a bad episode - I watched it when it aired and didn't laugh once 1
Purrrrrr 18,099
this was a moment i have vivid memories of this in the same way I have vivid memories of Gaga being extremely late and playing way over curfew at BBC big weekend and the straights were FURIOUS because the tv guide said family guy or american dad or something (which was what should be playing) but they just kept her set on the whole time 1 2

You know how I am with this one … in immediate retrospect, all Evergreen Terrace Haus Kingdom Day One allegiances aside, this episode is my ARTPOP (The Fame Ball, Joanne, Red and Blue, Chromatica, Cheek to Cheek, Joker Folie …, etc., … and/or literally, “Lisa Goes Gaga” … and/or [insert proximal vibe-adjacent projects here]) The timing on that episode was/is apex zeitgeist time capsule … but/and for (instant callback) Evergreen Terrace Haus Kingdom Day Ones (all handful of us, if plural) … the episode was so precise in an understated easy-to-dismiss-when-jaded kind of way … but, for the kids who don‘t mind some leaning into the Low Theory (callback!) whimsy of whatever said motley pop snapshot musing brings … it really is just a fun Easter Egg jaunt through a memory‘s museum … Spoiler 1
Reject False Icons 4,943
I’m beyond surprised that episode didn’t make the gp say that kindness/btw stuff was made up **** to help her sell concerts, but nobody watched the Simpsons at the time so… In some way it did make people a bit more tired of Gaga, oh 2012 the last year where Gaga was on the border of overexposure from the mainstream Edited Wednesday at 04:03 AM by Reject False Icons
Omegahedron 353
This was pretty cringe back then and as everyone is saying was symptomatic of her peak overexposure. As far as it's ageing, it's not got much better but it probably doesn't feel any worse than it did then.
RAMROD 117,048
It was great. People who didn't get it never will, but that's their own issues (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ ᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵗᵒʷᵃʳᵈ ᵉⁿᵉᵐʸ (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡ 4 1
gagzus 23,124
I personally enjoyed it, but I still can’t get over the fact it’s the lowest rated Simpsons episode EVER on IMDb like of the entire shows run I still say it’s because it was at the height of her overexposure in media to the general population. And they were sick of her face anywhere she went. Edited Wednesday at 09:15 AM by gagzus 3
Addison Rae 18,095
this was the beginning of the end let’s be honest. cute in retrospect but this was at the peak of her overexposure sitting on his lap sipping diet pepsi
NewUsername 11,753
The YOU'VE got a great big heart That's at the top of my chaaaaart melody and vocal delivery is still one of the best she has done for a side project
Kayioshka 3,316
I prefer South Park, and this.. Was peak. It was appreciative of Gaga's music and it was subtle because it wasn’t about her weird clothes but really about the music cultural moment. It was so much an iconic moment of the serie, that Cartman’s voice actor recorded it fully. Probably under substances... I think they were clearly grateful for the exposure and so they spent the whole episode basically eating her a$$ and doing PR for her, which is why the episode has always rubbed me the wrong way tbh. I was a fan of The Simpsons growing up and by this point the show largely became very stale. It was fun though looking back, the Gaga episode did have its cute moments in retrospect
