I’m sure that’ll change for you once she issues a statement against him over his present behavior.

Interesting, but I'm more of a person that relates to the art itself instead of the artist.

But the art itself promotes kindness, equality, LGBTQ+ rights, and human rights.

I'm not telling you you can't listen at all, but I'm just confused as to why you stan Gaga if you voted for Trump. Or more specifically, why you voted for Trump if you stan Gaga

the purpose of art is disturbing and bringing awareness to the issues of the real world

if you don't dip your toes in the dark waters after being exposed to it, you shouldn't see it as art, just entertainment

We're kinda getting off topic, so to end this convo I can invite you for a discussion via PM's and you can answer there the question where and when Trump said he's banning/not about things I bolded in your post.

That's gossip, what you on? Money don't talk, rip that song. :vegas:

I do not support the extreme actions of some of the protestors either but Taylor I think is right on this one

Trump is not someone who has a right to even give these kinds of comments trying to sound morally superior given his entire history including problematic racial stances

Very true, but art has infinite layers and after being born it lives its own life. That's what's cool about art - you can interpret it anyway you wants. And let's not pretend Gaga's music is strictly political.

If you (or any person) are into the history of art, you can find out that many great artists had different political views. And why you don't know that? Cause it doesn't matter.

There is definitely a lot more than this, but here are just some examples:

Kindness:

Equality:

I never understood people saying that. Like you’re not allowed to share your opinion if your not a politician?
She has a platform and she’s using it for good.

By that logic these same people should’ve told Trump “stick to reality TV”

I’m so proud of Taylor:heart:

People in the US literally have no clue what democracy means. It's literally "power of the people" so everyone has to the right to give an opinion. For some reason they put clown politicians on an untouchable pedestal as if they are the only ones who can decide about anything.

Trump is trash but Taylor is basically losing half of her fan base..

You aren't wrong. Taylor was being propped up as their Aryan queen. I know they are seething right now.

this here is rude for free and an empty assumption, it says more about you than it does about me anyways...

Not infinite. There's only so much conclusions conditioned by language, culture, the observer's upbringing and state of mind, whether they come from a minority or not.

And in these limited interpretations, the artist's vision is suggested as a focus, so your first interaction with the piece should be whether to embrace this vision or discard it, but the further away you go from the artist's intended meaning, the more you walk into solipsism and the disfigurement of art into a vain device of bread and circus.

yes, a lot of artists have dissonant political opinions than those prevalent today, and in my present condition, with my psychological and political view, i tend to choose to see it as only "beautiful" and not "meaningful" in order to respect the artist and not twist his words and work to fullfill my purposes.

Gaga's work is extremelly political, it advocates for mental health and diversity in countless opportunities, opening your mouth is a political statement, what it is not associated with is corporate politicism, a total different thing, but when she does approach the subject, you know very well that she does not allign with the narrative of the current government of the US
