RAMROD 117,348
Well, I am not surprised, that is the average time usually. 2 minutes ago, Enchanting said: You guys told me that we'd have a cure by this summer, now I look like a fool for believing you. fam, SARS literally took 2 whole years before being contained. It never have cure, and research vaccine is still on going til today. It also took 2 years for Western Africa Ebola. There are one vaccine In 2019, but not approved widely yet, only in the USA, with many more is still researching. Believing a pandemic would takes less than 2 years to be contained is not realistic. The challenge is to find a way to contain it thru other ways, maybe medication that suppress and alleviates deadly symptoms of the lungs for the meantime and obligatory face masks for the remainder of the year. But lockdown for a year is impossible, two? deadly. 500 millions today could be pushed to poverty bcs of this virus. Not to mention the economic crisis and catastrophy for every continent. Where will that lead us? Leaders are gonna have to be creative

Yep but the story is more complicated. Many companies stopped looking for a vaccine for SARS because they couldn't see the demand. The demand for treatment and a vaccine for covid is 8 billion people. Everyone wants a piece of this pie.

The thing is, regardless of any motives, there are a lot of steps before a vaccine are found and approved for use to humans. It is not something that can be rushed even if the situation is so dire out here. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ ᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵗᵒʷᵃʳᵈ ᵉⁿᵉᵐʸ (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡

However, if they can find a treatment that works or a vaccine in use that can protect an important proportion of people for covid also, the impact of the virus will be much lower.
