The video game retail chain GameStop told all of its stores this afternoon to stay open even in the event of state or city lockdowns to protect against the covid-19 pandemic, emphasizing that it is “essential retail” alongside groceries and pharmacies

ESSENTIAL retail?! :ladyhaha::billie::ladyhaha:

I just bought Animal Crossing on the eShop AND got money back. GameStop who?

They’re absolute trash so this doesn’t surprise me at all. Hope it accelerates their downfall 💕💞

At the current rate, in 2 days, USA will be the 2nd most cases (under Italy, and above China because cases have fallen to 10k there). In 5-6 days, USA will overtake Italy.

Update: All stores are closing. :applause:

GameStop will close all of its storefronts starting Sunday following outcry from employees and calls from lawmakers to stay at home as coronavirus spreads in the United States.

In what way? 💀 Everything they sell could be found cheaper on the PlayStation Store...online. They’ll go bankrupt soon anyway.

An EB Games location decided to stay open in Toronto after the Mayor ordered the closing of all non-essential businesses

It made it to th news that they were open and there was a big line up from people going in to buy games and he was pissed and went on a rant to the news about how a Games store is not an essential business and how people and businesses need to stop being disobedient or we won't contain the spread. :lmao:

i woulda been pissed too tho. Asking non essential businesses to temporarily close and EB Games chooses to stay open :rip:

It'll be interesting to see how many businesses and malls close down after all of this passes.
