Americano 31,061
Scream & Shout gained and she'll gain with the FF era videos, except Criminal won't get anything with its flop views and a lot of her old singles won't get much of a gain since she was pre-streaming when she peaked. The change is (lets be honest) an attempt to bolster the new pop girls of the internet age even higher above other rising stars. Labels with Rihanna, Gaga, Katy, Adele, etc. were clearly pushing for this change. Those stars look bigger than ever now.

Americano 31,061
The big LOSERS of the change are internationally focused stars (Lana Del Rey, Psy, etc.) and newer stars that dont have big streaming (Azealia, Marina etc.) It's almost feeding into the gulf between the mega stars and the kind-of stars. No DOUBT there has been a huge line drawn between them.
ThisGuyTony 29,339
That means Ke$ha won't get ANY sort of certification boost outside of "Tik Tok"... And (if I'm reading this right) that's only another 1x Platinum Certification... :nooo:
Americano 31,061
No DOUBT there has been a huge line drawn between them. Looks like the big labels wanna keep it that way too, they all definitely signed off on the change.

nick4bty 2,758
CHU keeps dropping on iTunes.... At least Mariah has held steady today, for the most part. Hopefully the video will boost it back up. I think all Mariah videos are guaranteed a good amount of views. It's amazing how strong her fanbase still is after all these years, tbh.

Americano 31,061
I'd really still love an explanation from people that hate it so much as to how they'd plan to take into account someone that has Spotify and listens to a single 800 times. In what world would it be fair to NOT count that as anything for a star in terms of sales? They receive royalties based on the plays and it got played as much, or more, than if it were purchased. Especially if the person uses Spotify premium or Youtube's new subscription service, the user themselves is actually paying for the music directly just like a sale.
