DiamondAngel 5,044
I wouldn’t be surprised. Our government has always been corrupt, especially in times like these.
CyanLights 15,576
I wouldn't be surprised, theres also the issue of people not self reporting - they brush off their symptoms as a bad cold or the flu and dont get properly diagnosed

TimisaMonster 31,073
Whether they want to or not...the numbers we have are only for people who actually seek medical treatment...I'm sure there are thousands who have it and just are staying home and not reporting they're sick out of fear of being ostracized or quarantined or losing money on the job or missing school etc... Even a friend of mine I havent seen in a while wanted to hang out this weekend but complained they have been sick with a "lingering cough that wont go away"...I was like Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Franch Toast 27,745
Probably. We're only now getting testing kits made more widely available, though realistically, we probably still don't have enough. Also, we have a bunch of college kids about to go on spring break. I'm sure there will be a huge spike after that, especially once more people are tested. But more people having the virus is a good thing if the number of deaths remains the same, because it lowers the mortality rate. She/Her/Hers
JazzGa 14,654
In the US, many of us don't go to the doctor and report our illnesses unless we desperately need to. There are probably hundreds of infections where the people are either staying home and not reporting, or in denial of their "allergies" and going to work anyways My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <
LateToCult 42,001
Yes. I don’t think it’s intentional though. Just a consequence of this administration’s incompetence. Hospitals don’t have tests so they can’t report cases. The death rate is also higher in the US because of the nursing home in Washington state that got hit. Many medics actually pointed this out from the start.
Illundressyou 447
There are 210 cases in Switzerland alone and we're a 8mill country so I think the US might be, not sure how much it has spread over there

DeleteMyAccount 11,881
I think what's equally or more important are the hate crimes against Asians happening around the world regarding the Coronavirus. Specially in the US it's been getting out of control. And of course no one is going to report on it. Or the fact that the common flu has killed around 18-40k people in the USA since 2019 and hospitalized hundreds of thousands. That being said, the Coronavirus still must be taken seriously, but I think people are going way overboard.
