They probably did a little homework for it though. The virology lab has been in Wuhan since the 1950’s and the region had high levels of poverty. The author could have decided that a virology lab + shoddy government + impoverished area = the perfect setting for her “prediction.” For the year she probably just figured there’s been a pandemic in the 20’s of every century so why not put 2020. Edit: oh, this is the a different one, which means the other author could have gotten inspiration from this book or done what I wrote above.
