They may be good people individually but they are still associated with a bad institution. That makes them bad cops by association. Again police brutality is rampant to the point that one in three Americans who are killed by strangers* so if cops were truly all nice people in the way they complete their jobs and stand up for the integrity of their position these statistics wouldn't be alarmingly high. I will say though You guys are missing a major point..things don't have to be mutually exclusive. The guy who lied about the cup, deserved to be fired. But like I said generalizations are bad. No one is saying there are corrupt people out there, but there ARE genuine people. And saying every one of them is evil is just outright stupid. Open your eyes, stop being blindly "woke". Yes actually. Your ideology as you call it seems like fear mongering. There is a difference. Once again you  just  listen to what YOU want to hear. No one here is saying there is NO problem with the law enforcement. No one here is saying there should be NO changes to be done. No one is saying there is NOT a problem. 

HOWEVER if you think the solution to this problem is causing every single minority to think all cops are evil due to association is plain stupid. So along with being proud of turning your family into leftists, I hope you also indulged them in some more informational conversations, of what we can do that can ACTUALLY help to CHANGE to a more trusting law enforcement.
