PLEASE READ THIS Picture this. Three-way relationship. A man, a woman and drugs. The lyrics describe the plot of the movie. This woman and her boyfriend are both addicts which in the future is handled by a system that acts like drugs but just in the right dose to appease the addict. The woman catches her man abusing this system as he is slowly destroying himself. So when he's passed out she uses a floating device to take him and put him far away from any drugs in the hopes that he can handle a cold turkey and returns to him when he's ok "I put you on an aeroplane, destined for a foreign land. I hoped that you'd come back again And tell me everything's okay" The woman tries again and again to come off drugs by going to a clinic on the moon but because she misses her man too much she starts abusing the drug machine too. "I'm flyin' to the moon again, dreamin' about heroin. How it gave you everything and took your life away" Eventually he returns and they live together but she hasnt gotten over her addiction and decides to leave somewhere far away in the galaxy in hopes of being able to return to the person she loves one day. "I'm flyin' to the moon again, dreamin' about marzipan. Taking all my medicine to take my thoughts away I'm getting on that aeroplane, leavin' my old man again. I hope that I come back one day To tell you that I really changed, baby." Also keep in mind part of this story plays on earth but sci-fi comes in with the planes and stuff flying to other galaxies and it's more of a tragic longing love story. People think this song is only about extraterrestrial love but it is also about space. This song has perfect theme placement since the atmosphere of the song is relaxing and sends you to the star and the universe, just as the song portrays Michael's feelings for the Alien. Michael never had a lovely childhood, so as an adult, he always wanted to be a child and in this song portrays his loneliness. He just wanted someone in the dark with him ...
