Okay I don't want to start a war with Lana's followers and ofc Gaga and Lana are good now but I want to know if anything came out of this? Did Lana ever say anything about it? Are we sure it was about Gaga (it sounds like it is but still )..

I know that you must’ve been asked about this a lot, but I can’t avoid the question. Some time ago one of Lana’s songs called “So Legit” was leaked, in which she talks about a girl named Stefani and some past in Williamsburg. Is that the Stefani we’re thinking?

Yes, I have been asked this question many times. Those of us who know Lana, either in real life, like me, or as fans of her songs, know that she would never write something like that about GaGa or anyone. That whole controversy blew up to ridiculous proportions. For example, some people blamed me for Lana having bad feelings about GaGa. They sad she was upset because I managed GaGa and not her. And a few days ago, under a You Tube video of GaGa thanking me at the SHOF award ceremony, someone wrote a comment saying that it was so wonderful of her to express her gratitude to me because, according to that person. I wrote “So Legit.” All I could do was laugh at something so ridiculously untrue. Like Lana, I would never write anything so cruel, especially about someone like GaGa about whom I have very positive feelings.

(which is clearly BS cause it was obviously about gaga and written and sung by lana   ) 

I feel like Lana was jealous but would never admit to it and that's that. I guess those feelings disappeared when she became successful and famous herself.

Hmmm I really do think it's about Gaga and that they had something going on before... OFC now they's say ''No it's not about Gaga'' but those lyrics are def about Gaga  I wonder what happened in  Williamsburg...

It's definitely about Gaga. But I don't think it's like a factual retelling of actual events or anything.

When Gaga was first starting out she would talk a lot in interviews about how pop music was actually the weird thing to be doing in NYC at the time, about how it was all kind of singer-songwriters and she wanted to be different etc. We know her earlier sound (Red and Blue) was more along these lines, and then she switched to pop and suddenly blew up.

I think So Legit is the opposite side of that exact same coin. It's Lana's view, that she's watching someone from her peer group "sell out" to pop music to make it big, and her sort of bitterness about that, because she was still trying to make it at the time it was written I believe. I actually think the whole thing is really interesting.

And clearly Lana and Gaga are okay now, so it's not a big deal. (I honestly think the song is hilarious and listen to it fairly regularly )

There was a lot of speculation, but I always thought the most believable one was that it was a failed PR stunt on Lana's part. It's not like stars haven't tried to start feuds for PR in the past. Born to Die and Paradise were obviously successful, but the general public still viewed her as that girl who bombed spectacularly on SNL instead of a moody, indie Americana type of singer like they do nowadays. Starting a celebrity feud with Gaga, right when the public was beginning to turn on her, would at least change the narrative from "the girl who was horrible on SNL" to something else. It wouldn't be particularly hard to "leak" an "old" song (might have been new) about Gaga....

I know people thought it had something to do with Bob Leone at the time and that big songwriting showcase, but I think investigator stans figured out that Gaga was at it a year or two before Lana so it's not like Gaga beat her out for a spot. I could be remembering that drama incorrectly, though. It's also possible, like LaLa said, that Lana thought she was a sell out.

Obviously, they are cool now tho. That line about Gaga being a man tho was so immature and kind of what made me think it was a PR thing, tho, because of the whole "Gaga's secretly a man" bullsh*t.
