SharkmanthaC 115,047
I always get a hurricane on my birthday. I've been watching the spaghetti models to see where it may go after Florida. I'm in NC, so hurricanes are a normal thing in the fall. she/her/hers
Morphine Prince 109,683
At this point it will hit Florida. I'm just hoping it ends there and doesn't move more into the Gulf and then hits us in Texas
Jenina 15,331
My parents are picking me up on Friday so I'll be with them in the hurricane over the weekend rather than in my dorm thankfully. cool cool

What do you guys do during a hurricane? I mean both to stay safe and not to get too stressed out about it?!

Models don't take it that far to Texas.
Jenina 15,331
Just now, Sneaky Oliver said: What do you guys do during a hurricane? I mean both to stay safe and not to get too stressed out about it?! I've lived in Florida for my entire life so they're not too scary anymore. We're likely not going to put up shutters for this one. But yeah the most annoying part for us is just finding bottled water since it goes from stores so quickly We fill our bathtub with water anyways though just in case cool cool

I mean both to stay safe and not to get too stressed out about it?! Not much really. Buy water, fill up the cars with gas, get medications. I live more inland, so there isn't that much preparation; however, last year we missed many school days because of inland flooding. There isn't much to do when it comes to flooding. It's not really something you can stop. I don't get stressed about them anymore since I've grown up with it. I worry more about my husband now since he works for the news he is usually out in it. she/her/hers

SharkmanthaC 115,047
It’s not that we don’t take it seriously. I just think it’s almost routine. However, I worry about people that don’t evacuate when they need to or don’t have the means to do so. she/her/hers
IamChromatica 2,025
Update: Model consensus trends towards east central Florida. Also, the hurricane is projected to slow down more as it approaches land. This makes it less likely for it to enter the Gulf of Mexico, but could increase flooding threat for Florida. This depends on how far west the hurricane tracks before its eventual turn northward.
