Ghost Face 6,236
Hi guys, I like to share an album concept that I came up with. I'm not a designer, so don't pay to much attention to the 'album cover' TOTEM Definition totem: a natural object or animal that is believed by a particular society to have spiritual significance and that is adopted by it as an emblem. Octopus as totem / Spirit Animal A sign of Focus and Multi-tasking When the octopus spirit animal comes into your life, it brings the power of focus. The octopus spirit animal wants you to pay equal attention to all the activities under your wing. It gives you the mastery of time balance. As such, you are very effective in managing your time. You are very much in touch with your strengths and weaknesses. The octopus encourages you to get a grip on what you put your mind to. Once you manage this, you are able to plow through life at full force! Also, the octopus spirit animal gives you a sense of self-worth. You move through life with the kind of attitude that guides you to abundance and prosperity. It encourages you to have an escape plan. Not everything in your life works out as you envision. However, you don’t have to despair when things don’t go your way. If you are stuck in a rut, allow the octopus spirit animal to guide you out of it. This totem will teach you how to think outside the box. When the octopus spirit guide comes into your life, it reminds you to camouflage yourself and stay hidden from your foes. The octopus is an expert at staying under the radar. It's an honor.

whore 11,447
Out of this concept, I definitely think Totem could be a title on its own (and it has more than one meaning, especially now that she’s just come from a successful era, you could say that she’s on the top of the totem pole ) Also, “Illicit” and “In Oblivion” are great song titles! Song ideas from me (from my collection of titles to inspire my own writing): ”Art Critic” ”Coven” ”Monogamy” ”Retrograde” ”Tarantism”

bxr 1,016
wait, this is fun … Haven’t really thought this through, but so, just going off the cuff for the fun of it … so none of this extended response will probably make sense … onward The album art. Lucid … reminds me of Mad Men when Peggy shows up for her first day at the corporate agency that bought out the independent agency where she worked, with the shades and the cigarette and the 500-year-old Japanese painting of the octopus and the woman intertwined and zero fxxks within a hundred foot radius (which also low-key kind of g.u.y flip the corporate patriarchy tease) The octopus. Ace symbolism. Also, in reality … it is a master architect / urbanist so, not too far a narrative evolutionary stretch within the Gaga realm of Haus / Metropolis; responds to ecstasy in an incredibly similar fashion to humans so, sonically speaking — deliver the octobops and just dance on that eight count; and are just incredibly intelligent creatures, so … just intelligence is the steal, I guess. Additionally, they do what they put their mind to -- they might symbolise thinking outside of the box, because they are literal escape artists who break out of boxes / aquariums . But I like the octopus. Totem. I like that it has the undertone of literal iconic. Also plays off of the human architecture, because celebrity / performance artistry functions that way … people as living structures or living institutions … totem pole also has strong meaning and history within the states ( monumental carvings, consisting of poles, posts or pillars, carved with symbols or figures … they serve as important illustrations of family lineage and the cultural heritage …) so from that lens, the album could be I guess a collection of those iconographies or narratives of the shape-shifter or the different identities / totems that exist within this iteration of Gaga … also, totem poles as artwork are native to the Pacific Northwest, where Gaga recorded in Portland and took some downtime (I think? With the greyscale posts of the fog and water) … so it could echo some of that headspace / experience … but, basically the album is a totem pole, but instead of totems stacked in a pillar, it’s songs on a record album … anyway … there’s that The songs. Tbh I like the five. Cromulent Baby, feels like it’s referencing a person in particular, and the dubious legitimacy reminds me of L’efant Terrible, so then I thought of Petite Cromulent or Cromulent Petite as a maybe alt. title. I also don’t really know how track titles are going to hit the masses or marketplace as far as catchiness or whatnot so i guess it depends more on what best conveys the song itself and develops the narrative of the album / tracklist as a whole — which this is all conceptual so who knows … but, going off of the album title and focus, random one-offs came to mind [something with the word] Panopticon (or maybe Panocticon): … feels like not-so-distant cousin / niece to Paparazzi. Title is based off of the historical surveillance structure ( a type of institutional building and a system of control … The concept of the design is to allow all prisoners of an institution to be observed by a single security guard, without the inmates being able to tell whether they are being watched. Although it is physically impossible for the single guard to observe all the inmates' cells at once, the fact that the inmates cannot know when they are being watched means that they are motivated to act as though they are being watched at all times. Thus, the inmates are effectively compelled to regulate their own behaviour. ) Throw Foucault in a lyric … Inkin’ Out Loud: … even though the squid has the ink, I think there’s some play here on thinking out loud, but ink … bit of a political tune, but from the scope of just sounding off on literally what she feels / thinks about what’s going on right now in “the world” … but not preachy, more just pop off … inking out loud because the pen is the microphone on a global stage — a banger bop with staccato flow that rides on the concrete and the dance floor Wife Aquatic: … idk, I think in snapshots, so octopus just resonated The Life Aquatic, anyway I guess this is kind of narrative sphere of Gypsy and Marry the Night … the ocean is in constant motion so the ebbs and flows and such it’s just open expanse and to live in that is to constantly ride those proverbial waves … like Gypsy … then the ocean and tides are controlled by the lunar cycles, so to be a wife aquatic is to marry the progeny of the night … or something to that effect … anyway something within that sphere Totem Recall … Totem Control … something with Totem replacing “Total” in a phrase … : I don’t know, something for the dance floor a banger that kind of just knocks up the adrenaline and stunts for filth — rewind remind who own this haus, culture being this haus, something like that … lyrical rundown of the shapes and shifts, I honestly don’t know, just brainstorming These are all subpar market unfriendly titles, but it’s more the concept … so just context there Sara Bellum: … yes Powerpuff Girl reference, but, next to the tentacles, the head is the most prominent or distinctive element of the cephalopod anatomy … so it’s cerebellum, and it’s known for its intelligence / intellect, but pivot the narrative to a Scheiße vantage … tbh there’s a pop matriarch or kind of makeshift cultural monarch or something going on in the concept … so the totem is relevant from a spiritual compass space … Just … thinking out loud for the most part, but kudos on brainchild, it’s a fun idea to muse just for the sake of conceptual arts and crafts
