I'm glad she's staying away from the typical social media channels and is speaking out about it. It was such a fun time, I remember being so excited when I got a notification that she tweeted. Sometimes she would spend an hour just chatting with us it felt so natural back then, she literally changed the way fan/celebrity interactions worked. HermioneT 1,998 Posted July 27, 2019 Share Posted July 27, 2019 Sadly I wasn't around when she was active on social media and of course I would enjoy her being more active, but I think there a million reasons for her to not be active (anymore). In addition to the ones already mentioned here - for example: - social media takes a lot of energy (especially if it isn't fun anymore because of the already mentioned toxicity/toilet of the internet thing) and maybe she just can't muster it anymore. Keep in mind she constantly is fighting a chronic illness and fighting against constant pain and exhaustion takes an aweful lot of energy. She probably needs to prioritize. - I relatively sure her social media accounts are almost entry run by a PR/social media team and surly she needn't take all the photos herself. Maybe she is just tired of being photographed/filmed all the time and rather has a lot of photos done in one sitting, so that her PR can post them later. - maybe she has come to some kind of realisation towards the way she separates her being Lady Gaga and Stefanie (if she does at all) around the time she stopped being active. Maybe she still is active on social media, but just not as Lady Gaga. - Perhaps she is trying to state a point as a celeb in not sharing her private life/a lot on social media? - maybe she has parts of her privat life she just doesn't want to be public (like someone she dates/lives with, family/friends problems or certain aspects of illnesses) and it would be a hassle to keep them and all their traces from her social media appearances. Lately, we've been soooo hard with every single thing she has done, and this fanbase has turned so toxic. I understand you, but also understand Gaga. Noir 17,248 Posted July 27, 2019 Share Posted July 27, 2019 I think she’s so intensely aware that fans want every piece of her and so maybe this is her way of having privacy, not committing to social media and interactions so relentlessly as she once did. Not that giving us more or giving us nothing is wrong or right but perhaps she’s in a creative place where she doesn’t want interruptions. I don’t know, I have so many feelings about this - too long to post but her happiness is what’s paramount and if not posting an Instagram post every day makes her happier, that’s fine by me.
