Just yesterday i realized why so many people actually disliked Gaga from 2009-2014. There really wasn't a lot of substance behind her work, but her mouth was gigantic nonetheless. she seems a lot more grounded and adult nowadays, and not like an annoying opportunistic teenager that says something for the sake of just saying something and provoking a reaction

This is so ****ing wrong it actually makes me angry :air:

Just because she didn't mention her sister or her dead aunt doesn't mean there wasn't any substance... yes, she was tackling "bigger ideas" but how is that not a good thing :what: I'll take The Fame over Joanne any day tbh lol. That intellectual wit is much more intriguing to me than a song repeating over and over that she misses a dead relative :rip:

So extremely rude. She has been talking about Joanne SINCE her first album. Way to dismiss a huge part of who she is and discredit a song she is proud of. What a good fan you are

So you're quoting me talking about one song but are saying nothing about someone who discredits her entire early career, saying there was no meaning to it and she was just being an annoying teenager? :lmao:

Great sense of priority I guess. Selective criticism much.

Always, absolutely. And quite honestly never thought i'd be saying I miss 2012 gaga because that year was a total mess to experience and in a lot of ways not even likeable for me personally but nevertheless i was still on the edge of my seat waiting for idk what.... love her always but a bit consistently bored gotta admit. still consume, still support, still look and love, but she rarely makes me cum. id say. shes like a loving companion but ive gotta get myself off elsewhere.

I agree with this entirely but don't do Joanne title track like that lol its kind of underrated imo. In fact, the literal only moment off Joanne sans Diamond Heart that says anything about her family which was what I thought the album was supposed to center on, but I guess its her middle name as well so a clunky track about masturbation somehow got shoe-horned in there lol although actually probably just because it was a beck collaboration. anyway what?

I think the inspiration is fine but that song was just very uninteresting lyrically to me :emma: If I compare that style of writing to, say, Brown Eyes I think it's obvious where she shone more as a songwriter. So I never bought this whole "her early work was basic and now she's deep" storyline of fans, it's disgusting.

As per my previous post.... I don't f*cking care about promo cycles, I have better things to do. Whether you think her art is less or more convincing is just a personal opinion, which I've also said before. I don't really think there's a lot you can add or explain, so this exchange is done

Sorry but I think you’re being quite rude honestly.. @Suspiria was giving you argumentations that prove what you’re saying is wrong and all you have to say is “I don’t ****ing care about that” and “I don’t think there’s a lot you can add or explain, so this exchange is done”.. Extremely rude.. You need to be open to other opinions and argumentations..

I don't think the passion or "power" of Joanne as a song is in the lyricism but moreso her delivery. I think she sings it with more feeling and depth than she ever sang Brown Eyes. And I think its a better song as well anyway lol but I mean, thats subjective. I dont think one is necessarily lyrically superior to the other, Brown Eyes was kind of idk..vague. As far as her ballads go nothing matches Speechless for me personally, although I do like/appreciate You and I lyrically and vocally, I just never cared for the corny quasi-country production.

But yes The Fame slander is very aggravating to me. Its a lot of ARTPOP stans resentful of her previous success and the fact that objectively less good albums that came after The Fame+Monster are never as well received commercially or critically. I enjoy ARTPOP for what it is truly, but being on this site surrounded by predominantly ARTPOP stans that try to belittle her previous output in its name is kind of like....twilight zone-ish.

Not really, as everybody evolves and that's what we got us here and now :tony: . I'm still a lucky guy and so grateful for having been around at that time. :diane: .

Kinda curious about why your attitude is so passive-agresive? :triggered: We understand the fact that you might like the boring, "mature" side of Gaga, it's totally fine, but the way you talk about her past like she was just another popstar who just dressed different is rather unfair to be honest. All of her songs have a deeper meaning, that's one of the first things I loved about her, how ambiguous her lyrics were, you can literally give them a lokt of meanings and associate them with different situations in your life or her life. Gaga was far more genuine, creative, and overall interesting that she is now. I know you don't care about "promo or if she doesn't interact with her fans anymore", but it's interesting to me as to why someone would prefer the less genuine side of someone.

Perhaps, Gaga, imo, it's not really your kind of artist. I think it's pretty sure to say that LG6 will in someway be the return of the old pop/edm Gaga the great majority of us loved and you'd find yourself troubled with that, cuz as we all know Gaga is always evolving and perhaps this era might be one of her craziests.
