Joanne (WDYTYG) was released two days before the Grammys because she was going to perform there. She had no new album, no new material, but they had to promote something. And they were milking the **** out of Joanne era. And they were obviously trying to give her material to be nominated the following year, not knowing how ASIB would perform. The Cure was released in a time where Gaga's streaming power was being questioned a lot, tropical pop was still very popular and Joanne was lacking the commercial success. The Cure was the way they found to make people go stream Gaga and by default introduce Joanne through streaming platforms. She literally released a standalone single in the middle of an album era, and a year later releases a new single from the album, that was no "oh this song means so much I just need to release it" So, you see, there were always reasons to release something. This time? ASIB songs are doing great, so no reason to remind the public she exists. She's doing Enigma, which is doing great, and she gets to perform the show in multiple places. In no way does she need to release a single to remind people she's here. She has the next Grammys secure because of ASIB album.
